College World Series Day Two – Official Play

Yes, this is a college football blog but since things are a little slow with the offseason and college baseball is heating up I’m going to provide some college baseball play as well. Please note that I won’t count these results on my tracking page. I am going to keep that page just for college football for the time being.

I have to be quick with my write-up here as the game starts within the hour. Sorry for the late post. It’s a short turnaround during a tournament.

The weather seems to be prime for the over here. It’s a hot day and we are getting reports that there is a strong wind blowing out. Mississippi State starter Will Bednar is coming off a bad start last time out in the Super Regionals against Notre Dame where he only lasted 3 innings and gave up 7 hits with 2 walks. With the conditions favoring the hitters and Bednar coming off a bad start and possibly dealing with CWS jitters, I like the Longhorns to be able to score some runs today.

Ty Madden is a very good starter for Texas but the Mississippi State lineup has some thump and is really hard to shut down for an entire game. The ball has been jumping more than I expected it too in Omaha so I’ll roll with the over here.
