Rather than creating a new post for each bet, I am just going to pin this post for the week and go in and add information and plays as they come in. As always, follow me on twitter @MikeyLoBets to be notified as soon as I make any official plays.
Last Week Recap

YTD: 11-6 (64.7%), +10.19 Units
We’re back! There is no “last week” to evaluate, but I did go 11-6 in the Spring FCS season.
Week 0 Write-Ups
Eastern Illinois (+13.5) (-115) @ Indiana State (BetOnline)
If there is a better line available at FanDuel or DraftKings I can’t see it. As an Illinois resident we have an annoying law in the State that prohibits us from betting on in-state college teams with those books. That being said, I’m happy with +13.5.
Indiana State opted out of the 2020 season, so they haven’t played a football game since 2019. Eastern Illinois, on the other hand, played a six-game season this Spring. So there is a big contrast in recent experience. From a handicapping perspective I am inclined to think that teams that played in the Spring will have an edge over teams that sat out all of the 2020 season early on due to the rust factor. As the year goes on, that might shift as it’s possible teams that played a season in the Spring may wear down a little bit. We will continue to monitor the situation.
This will be the 3rd season for Adam Cushing at head coach for Eastern Illinois. He was a coach I liked a lot at Northwestern and year 3 is typically when new coaches start to show big improvements. While EIU was only 1-5 this Spring, after the first week they only got blown out one time (and that was to a #1 seed in the FCS playoffs, Jacksonville State). Otto Kuhns is back at QB for the Panthers and he has 3 games of starting experience from the Spring under his belt. They also bring back their top 6 pass catchers and 4 of their 5 starting O-Linemen.
Indiana State is a Missouri Valley Conference team but they are picked to finish near the bottom of the conference by just about everyone. I’m not sure they have the fire power to blow a team out right now. They are breaking in a new QB and haven’t played a game in a long time. They only averaged 20 points per game in 2019.
I am going a little smaller than usual on this play just because of the uncertainty surrounding Indiana State. I feel good about the play, but since there is limited information out there about the Sycamores I’m going to take a more cautious approach.
